Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt offer a relationship update, sharing that marriage «doesn’t have to be that serious.» (Exclusive)
Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt are sharing their insights on married life and the secrets to maintaining a strong relationship.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, recently reflected on how things have been since their wedding. Pitt notes that “nothing really changed” after they got married, but their bond remains strong.
“Married life is great,” says Amabile, 38, with Pitt, 27, adding, “Pretty easy, which I feel like is a good sign.”
Pitt explains that their lifestyle hasn’t shifted much since marriage. “We were already living together and we don’t have a kid,” she says. “It’s fun!”
When asked about relationship advice, Pitt emphasizes the importance of not overthinking things. “I can’t speak to 20 years of marriage, but we’re a year in, and I just think having fun,” she shares.
“It doesn’t have to be that serious. Have fun together. Enjoy life, enjoy your relationship.”
While marriage hasn’t changed their dynamic, Pitt admits the couple has realized they should “maybe have a will.” She expresses relief that their relationship still feels easy and effortless.
“The hope is that things stay as easy and effortless as they were before you get married,” she says. “And they have, so that’s great.”
Amabile credits their easy relationship to good communication, saying bottling up emotions leads to unhappiness.

The couple met on *Bachelor in Paradise* in 2021, married in a NYC courthouse in 2022, and had a big wedding in Charleston.
Pitt jokes, “We don’t know which one to celebrate!” and Amabile adds, “That’s what happens on reality TV.”
They say their honeymoon phase has lasted longer than expected, with Pitt adding, “Joe still surprises me, and I love that.”
