In a preview of the Fox show, Nicole, 32, is seen alongside other celebrity contestants like Denise Richards and Brody Jenner. In an emotional moment, she wipes away tears as a voiceover reveals, «Going through a public breakup, it’s been overwhelming.»
In another clip, a fellow contestant asks about her ex, and Nicole quietly confirms it’s the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, Kelce.
In an October 2024 appearance on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, Nicole opened up about the online negativity she has faced since Kelce began dating Taylor Swift. She admitted that the hate and online chaos still affect her.
«I would be lying if I said it didn’t impact me,» she said. «Even to this day, I get comments calling me worthless and questioning my career.»
Asked by podcast host Angel Reese why she’s been targeted despite handling her breakup with «grace,» Nicole expressed uncertainty, saying, «I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, and it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.»
Kayla Nicole began dating Travis Kelce in 2017, and their on-again, off-again relationship lasted for five years. They initially connected through Instagram, with Nicole revealing that Kelce had been «insta-flirting» with her for months.
After rumors of their January 2023 breakup, including speculation about financial reasons, Kelce clarified in an interview that the rumors were false.
Since Kelce and Taylor Swift confirmed their relationship in September 2023, Nicole has focused on moving forward, even unfollowing friends Brittany and Patrick Mahomes on Instagram.
