Kim Kardashian Reacts to L.A. District Attorney’s Call for Menendez Brothers’ Resentencing

Following Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon’s recommendation that Erik and Lyle Menendez be executed for the murder of their parents, Kim Kardashian applauded the most recent development in the case.

In a long text post on her Instagram Stories, the 44-year-old reality TV personality commended Gascon for «righting a significant wrong» and said that the brothers were «granted a second chance.»

Kim started her remarks by saying, «The Menendez brothers were given a second chance at life and will finally be eligible for a parole hearing when they wake up tomorrow.»

The creator of SKIMS, who earlier stated that she thinks the brothers need to be released from prison, continued, «They could be released in as early as six months.»

«Thank you, George Gascón, for taking a second look at the Menéndez brothers’ case and making amends.» Your dedication to justice and the truth is admirable.

«To the millions of people who have been outspoken supporters, as well as the brothers’ friends and family, your voices were heard.»

The abuse and unfairness in their case were made public by the media, particularly after Ryan Murphy’s TV show.

Social internet gives us the ability to challenge the established system, and society’s perception of child abuse has changed over time.

This instance emphasizes how crucial it is to challenge judgments and look for the truth, even when guilt is not at issue.

«I am appreciative of a society where we can question rulings and pursue justice, and I think the legal system can change.»

Kim, a 2021 graduate of California’s «baby bar» exam, concluded her article with the words, «Never stop questioning.»

‘Erik and Lyle are instantly eligible for parole now that their sentence has been reduced to 50 years to life,’ the celebrity, whose father, Robert Kardashian, was O. J. Simpson’s lawyer, wrote in a subsequent text post.

California approved a provision in 2015 that permits those who were given life sentences before turning 25 to apply for parole after serving 25 years.

As ‘youthful offenders’, Erik and Lyle are instantly eligible for release because they had served 35 years in jail.

At a news conference on Thursday afternoon, 35 years after Erik and Lyle killed their parents, Kitty and Jose, inside their Beverly Hills house, Gascon suggested that they be given a fresh sentence.

He suggests making them immediately eligible for parole. The brothers, who are currently 53 and 56 years old, will eventually have their final punishment decided by a court.
