Kristen Doute is experiencing the happiest time of her life!
The The Valley star, 41, is expecting her first child with fiancé Luke Broderick, a representative for Doute confirms exclusively.
In an emotional announcement, Doute shares a few heartwarming photos, expressing her excitement to begin this new chapter with Broderick.
«After experiencing a pregnancy loss last year, we made the decision to try again in early 2024,» Doute reveals. «I was aware that my age could play a role in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed the possibility of seeking additional help.»
«By late summer, we decided to consult a fertility specialist to understand our options and determine the next steps if we chose that path.
The following month was a whirlwind—learning about fertility treatments, receiving hormone shots, and preparing my body for IUI (intrauterine insemination),» she adds.
Doute and Broderick sought guidance from Dr. Carolyn Alexander at the Southern California Reproductive Center, describing the experience as «incredible.»
“She provided the perfect combination of scientific expertise and positive energy, helping us create our little miracle,” the excited mom-to-be shares.
It didn’t take long for Doute to receive the wonderful news of her pregnancy, and she says Broderick was «over the moon» when they learned their family would be expanding.
“The two weeks after the IUI procedure felt like an eternity. To get an accurate result from a pregnancy test, I had to wait the full two weeks, but deep down, I knew it had worked. I decided to test a day early, and there it was—the big ‘PREGNANT’ staring back at me.»
“I felt a mix of relief, joy, excitement, and nerves all at once.
When I shared the news with Luke, he wasn’t surprised, but he was absolutely thrilled that the IUI worked on the first try. He was ecstatic, to say the least! Our due date is in June, and we can’t wait to grow our little family and step into parenthood together!”
This joyful announcement comes just a few months after Broderick proposed to Doute during a trip to Maui, Hawaii, while they were filming the second season of The Valley.
