Kristin Cavallari says she went on a few dates with Jay Cutler post-divorce to rekindle their bond, describing it as a «trauma bond.»

Kristin Cavallari is opening up about the details of her marriage and eventual divorce from Jay Cutler.

In a recent appearance on Bunnie XO’s *Dumb Blonde* podcast, Cavallari, who was married to Cutler from 2013 to 2020, confessed that their relationship was never truly healthy.

She explained that her troubled relationship with her father played a significant role in shaping her marriage.

«I was repeating a pattern from my relationship with my dad. And because I hadn’t addressed those issues, I ended up marrying someone like my dad,» Cavallari, 37, shared.

«It really forced me to confront my own issues, which is exactly what I did.»

After her 2020 divorce, Cavallari focused on herself to avoid repeating past mistakes in future relationships. Reflecting on her marriage, she described it as «toxic» due to her lack of self-work.

«I was young and naïve,» she admitted, recalling how she was just 23 when she started dating Cutler. She also revealed they dated a few times after their divorce, trying to rekindle their bond.

«It’s a trauma bond,» she said, explaining the difficulty of breaking free from it despite knowing it wasn’t right.

Cavallari eventually decided to end things for good, saying, «I can’t do this,» and focused on doing the necessary work on herself.

She also accused Cutler of being a «pathological liar,» revealing on the podcast that there are things from her marriage she will never know but has learned to let go.

In October, Cavallari reflected on the heartbreak of her marriage, saying, «Even though I’m the one who walked away, it wasn’t what I wanted.»

However, she shared that she and Cutler are now on better terms, even attending one of their son Camden’s basketball games together. «It took four years, but things are really good now,» she said.
