Kristin Davis reveals she was ghosted by a now-successful actor after lending him $5,000, calling it a «horrible mistake.»

Kristin Davis shared a cautionary tale on her *Are You a Charlotte?* podcast, warning against lending money to people you’re dating.

She recalled a frustrating experience where she was ghosted by a man she had dated after lending him $5,000, which he never paid back.

During the January 20 episode, Davis, 59, spoke with actress Sarah Wynter, who had appeared in *Sex and the City*’s pilot, about ghosting — a concept the show explored before the term became widely known.

Davis revealed that years ago, she dated an actor who was struggling financially. At the time, he had overdue bills and a wrecked motorcycle, leaving him unable to attend auditions.

Wanting to help, Davis offered him the money, only for him to stop contacting her after accepting the loan.

“I probably should’ve known better,” Davis admitted, explaining that after lending him the money, the dynamic of their relationship changed.

She remembered showing up at his apartment and banging on the door, only to hear his dog but no sign of him. The actor eventually called, acknowledging her visit, but never returned the money.

Despite the painful experience, Davis laughed off the situation as a “messy” but “funny” ghosting story. Wynter, however, jokingly suggested adding interest to the amount owed.

Davis, who now sees the incident as a learning experience, urged others not to make the same mistake, saying, «Do not lend anyone money that you are dating. It doesn’t end well.»

While Davis has moved on, she admitted that it wasn’t the last time she made that kind of mistake.
