Billboard also noted in their post that Carey holds another spot in the chart’s No. 1 songs list with a 1990s hit. Her new record surpasses the 16-week reign of «One Sweet Day» by Boyz II Men in 1995-96.

Additionally, they shared that «All I Want for Christmas Is You,» which has topped the Hot 100 for a third consecutive week this holiday season, now holds the third-longest period of domination in the chart’s 66-year history.

The iconic song first debuted in 1994 on Carey’s *Merry Christmas* album. Billboard reported that Mariah Carey’s «All I Want for Christmas Is You» first entered the top 10 of the Hot 100 in December 2017, reaching the top five a year later.

It topped the chart for three weeks in 2019 and continued its success, reaching No. 1 for two weeks in 2020, three weeks in 2021, four weeks in 2022, and two weeks in 2023. The song also became the first holiday track to reach 2 billion streams on Spotify.

Carey expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’m honored to have ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ be the first holiday track on Spotify to reach 2 billion streams! I’m so grateful to all Spotify listeners who’ve made the song part of their holiday tradition year after year.”
