Meghan Markle is back on Instagram—who from the royal family is following her?
Meghan Markle has returned to Instagram after nearly five years, launching a verified account (@meghan) on January 1 and quickly gaining 1.4 million followers.

While her supporters have embraced her return, no members of the royal family have followed her new profile.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royals remains strained, and official royal accounts, like @theroyalfamily and @princeandprincessofwales, still follow @sussexroyal, the couple’s previous account.
Princess Eugenie and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi follow @sussexroyal but not @meghan, while other royals like Sarah Ferguson, Mike Tindall, and Princess Beatrice (who lacks a public account) do not follow her.

Unlike full-time working royals, Eugenie and others manage their own social media to highlight personal and professional life. Meghan’s last Instagram account, @sussexroyal, was closed in 2020 after the couple stepped back from royal duties.
The @sussexroyal account, with nine million followers, has been inactive since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California in 2020 with their son Archie, now 5.
The family grew when they welcomed daughter Lilibet, now 3, in June 2021, and they now raise their children privately in Montecito.

Meghan returned to Instagram on New Year’s Day with the handle @meghan, marking her first social media appearance in nearly five years.
She had previously closed her personal Instagram and Twitter accounts in 2018, ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry.
Since debuting her new account, Meghan has posted twice: a beach video on Jan. 1 and the official trailer for her upcoming Netflix series *With Love, Meghan* on Jan. 2. The new account has comments disabled and isn’t following anyone.
