Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly have a second, private Christmas card for friends and family, with their public «happy holidays» card intended for professional use

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sparked attention with the release of their «holiday» card this week, but it seems they have a second, more private card as well.

The public greeting from the Archewell Foundation featured a rare photo of their children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, marking their first appearance in a holiday card in years.

It also highlighted the couple’s year, including moments from their four-day trip to Colombia in August.

Despite the personal touches, the card maintained a formal tone, simply stating: «On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.»

The card released by Harry and Meghan is for professional use only, with a second, more personal card sent to close friends, family, and their inner circle, according to People magazine.

This private card will likely offer more intimate glimpses into their family life, similar to the personal cards they’ve shared in past years.

Although they stepped down as working royals in 2020, the couple has continued the tradition of releasing a Christmas card each year.

This year’s card reflects their desire to protect their children’s privacy, with both Archie and Lilibet facing away from the camera.

In contrast, their 2021 card gave a first look at Lilibet and revealed Archie’s face, while their 2019 card showed baby Archie crawling toward the camera.

The last official photo of Princess Lilibet was released on her first birthday, offering a rare glimpse of the young princess. Since then, little has been seen of her, with the most recent photos taken during the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 at Frogmore Cottage.

A friend told that Harry has been cautious about sharing images of his children, not out of a desire to hide them, but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats.

«Harry wants them to live as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm,» the friend said, adding that as a father and husband, Harry is committed to preventing history from repeating itself.

The holiday card was shared on X/Twitter by royal reporter and longtime friend Omid Scobie, who captioned it, «The Sussexes share highlights of their year on the 2024 Archewell holiday card.»
