Rachael Kirkconnell is speaking out about her split from Matt James, revealing how she’s handling the breakup.
Two weeks after James announced their breakup via a cryptic Instagram post, Kirkconnell opened up about the emotional toll it took on her during an appearance on *Call Her Daddy*.
She shared that she found out about the breakup while on a plane.
“As the plane was taking off, I saw his post, and that was it,” Kirkconnell explained. “I had no service for the next 12 hours, so I was freaking out—just broken up with, and now the whole world knows, and I’m still processing it.”
Kirkconnell admitted she was still in shock and hadn’t made a public statement yet because she’s still coming to terms with everything.
She also revealed that, prior to the split, she thought they were on the same page, even discussing plans for the future, including rings and wedding preparations.
Her podcast appearance came shortly after TMZ released footage of her first public outing since the breakup.
At LAX, she told reporters that she was “hanging in there” and provided some insight into the situation, though she emphasized that she’s taking her time to process everything.
