Selena confirms Alex Russo’s comeback in the new Instagram story
The singer and actress returns to her role as Alex Russo in the «Wizards of Waverly Place» spin-off, which also stars Janice LeAnn Brown and David Henrie.

Disney’s wizards won’t be left alone for long by Selena Gomez!
While celebrating the series’ record-breaking debut episode viewership, the 32-year-old actress and singer hinted that she will return to Wizards Beyond Waverly Place as her popular character Alex Russo «sooner than you think.»
On Tuesday, November 12, she posted the news on her Instagram Stories, showcasing a snapshot of an article that revealed the show’s Disney+ viewing figures.

She included a little remark beside the story to thank viewers for watching and to give them something to look forward to.
She wrote, «Don’t worry, Alex will return sooner than you think. You all made this possible.»
At the remake’s debut, Gomez talked candidly about what it meant to be able to return to the show that made her famous. The reboot is a spin-off of the 2007–2012 sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place.

At the October premiere, Gomez remarked, «It’s the best feeling in the whole world to be able to bring this back for you and to all the people who have never seen it before.» «I was truly delighted to be able to simply revive the feeling of nostalgia.»
Gomez said, «This is what gave me everything that I have today, and I’ll never forget that this is where I started,» referring to the 2007–2012 original series.

The new show centers on David Henrie’s character Justin Russo, who has made the decision to «lead a normal, mortal life with his family» until his sister Alex Russo unexpectedly knocks on his door.
In an attempt to get Justin to come out of retirement and train her, Alex invites her young wizard Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) along for the premiere on October 29.

His character «realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World,» according to the official description.
The 35-year-old Henrie earlier stated that he and Gomez’s «goal» for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place was to «recreate» the sense of community that they had experienced in the first series and create a «workplace» where «everyone can feel like family.»

«We did that in a loving and supportive environment. On the set, he remarked, «I think you’re going to feel that on screen.»
