The billionaire pretended to leave for Canada, but what he saw on the hidden cameras changed his family forever.
Chadworth Prescott switched off the lights in his mansion, picked up his suitcase, and said goodbye to his daughters, Lorelai and Gemma.
“I’ll only be gone a few days,” he promised.
But there was no business trip. Thirty minutes after leaving, Chadworth secretly returned through a service entrance with his head of security.
He entered a monitoring room filled with live camera feeds from across the mansion.
The plan had begun with his fiancée, Sabina. For months, she had warned him about Rosamund, the quiet housekeeper who cared for his daughters.
“She’s stealing from you,” Sabina claimed. “And she’s manipulating the girls.”
Chadworth initially dismissed her accusations, but doubt slowly changed how he viewed Rosamund. Her close relationship with the girls began to appear suspicious.
He therefore invented the Canadian trip to discover what happened when everyone believed he was away.
At first, the cameras showed nothing unusual. Rosamund cleared the breakfast dishes while the girls played quietly. Chadworth began regretting his decision.

The moment she thought Chadworth was gone, her pleasant expression vanished. She snapped at Lorelai and Gemma for sitting on the rug. Both girls immediately became frightened.
When Sabina threw Gemma’s stuffed rabbit onto the sofa, Lorelai moved protectively toward her younger sister.
Chadworth realized their reaction was not new. His daughters already knew how to prepare themselves for Sabina’s anger.
Rosamund entered and calmly placed herself between Sabina and the children.
“The girls haven’t done anything wrong,” she said.
Sabina ordered Rosamund to remember her place. Chadworth wanted to intervene, but his security chief urged him to keep watching.
Sabina then revealed her plan. She had hidden a bracelet in Rosamund’s room and intended to accuse her of stealing it.
Rosamund would be fired, and if the girls defended her, Sabina would convince Chadworth to send them to boarding school.

The words devastated Chadworth because they were true. His daughters had tried to show him their fear, but he had ignored every sign.
Rosamund reassured the girls before removing a flash drive from her apron.
For three months, she had collected threatening messages, recordings of Sabina insulting the children, and financial documents.
The evidence proved that Sabina had secretly transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars from Chadworth’s charitable account into a shell company.
Framing Rosamund was simply a way to silence her.
When Sabina tried to seize the drive, the living-room doors opened.
Chadworth entered with his security chief and two police officers. Sabina immediately pretended to be innocent, but Chadworth stopped her.

The camera footage exposed her threats, the planted bracelet, and the financial scheme. As the officers escorted her away, Sabina accused Chadworth of choosing a housekeeper over his future wife.
“I’m choosing my daughters over the woman who taught them to fear their own home,” he replied.
Chadworth apologized to Lorelai and Gemma. Lorelai asked whether he would punish Rosamund for telling the truth.
“Never,” he promised.
A photograph then fell from Rosamund’s apron. It showed her beside Chadworth’s late wife, Evelyn.
On the back, Evelyn had written that grief sometimes made good people blind and asked Rosamund to protect her daughters.
Rosamund explained that Evelyn had helped her escape homelessness, receive an education, and find work.
Before becoming ill, Evelyn made Rosamund promise that Lorelai and Gemma would never feel abandoned. Rosamund had remained in the mansion not for money, but to honor that promise.
Over the following year, Chadworth reduced his business travel and became present in his daughters’ lives.
He established the Evelyn Prescott Foundation to provide housing and education for young women leaving shelters and appointed Rosamund as its director.
On Gemma’s birthday, Chadworth gave Rosamund a house key.
